Check Android compatibility and install the correct player for a phone, tablet or TV device.

Record your Android model and version

Note whether you use a phone, tablet or television device. On supported Android devices, model information is available in the device’s settings. Keep the model and operating-system version together when asking about a player.

Check the Play Store listing

Find the player in Google Play, inspect the publisher and check its price before installing. A listing may be unavailable for a particular location, screen or Android version. An app that works on a phone is not automatically suitable for a remote-controlled television.

Confirm the subscription login format

Open the player and identify the available sign-in options. Match these to the format your provider supplied. Do not replace a missing field with unrelated account information; ask which app version and login method are supported.

Test touch and playback separately

First confirm that the player opens and its controls respond. Then test an authorised stream. If the app closes before playback starts, describe that as an app problem; if the interface remains responsive while video stops, include that distinction in your support message.
